Maths: Rotation around a point

In maths we've been learning how to describe the angle and direction of a rotated shape.  Today we had a go at rotating shapes around a point, when the shape isn't actually sitting on the point of rotation.

Have a look at these photos we took showing the process...

The Rugby World Cup is over and it's started sinking in...

... so of course the Rugby World Cup is over, but it wasn't until this weekend that I really 'noticed' the end of it - a weekend with no rugby on the telly!

Seven billion people on earth - what number are you?

Did you know that in the next few weeks the global population is expected to reach 7 billion?  That's right, not million but billion (which is one thousand million!)

Take a look at the BBC website to calculate where you fit into the 7 billion people around the globe.

(My results)

Why don't you share your number below?

Woman's Refuge, Meg and Dasha

Hi everyone,

We have been making a difference for the past six weeks in learning hub 3. Dasha and I have decided to make a difference to the Woman's Refuge. Just a reminder that, we are collecting in cans of food , shampoo and soap (if you have any) to donate to the woman's refuge. It's due by the 11th of November and could you please bring them to learning hub 3. We will have a box where you can put the things in and we will also mention the names of people who participated in bringing in the cans of food and shampoo, soap on the blog.

Thanks
Meg and Dasha
